You need tornado strength winds to get the light to light up and the light died altogether within a couple days, it's now in the trash.My kids were never able to spin the blades fast enough to get it to light, the only way we were able to get it to light up was by putting a fan on high right next to it. The fan mechanism itself is supposed to rotate, but I had to sand and oil it to get it to have any movement whatsoever.Also, it's extremely sensitive to moisture. I added sand to the water bottle as a weight and apparently either the sand or the outdoor humidity killed it.It's a fantastic idea, but just cheaply made.
