Review on πŸ”˜ Fastronix Heavy Duty Momentary Start Switch with Neoprene Cap by Steven Loy

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Works but may not be weatherproof enough as there is no shaft seal.

Installation was successful. This is a simple device. It wasn't clear if the hex nut should be on the front or back of the panel I installed it on. I put the nut on the outside so it attaches to the switch behind the panel. The rubber tip unscrews and is part of a round nut. I guess you could leave it there if you don't need weather protection. However, if you want the switch to be weatherproof, you'll need to install one. However, you cannot tighten it unless you use pliers that crush the steel. There must also be a gasket or seal to ensure the weatherproof rubber and steel part fits snugly against the panel body and does not leak through the shaft. I used a garden hose gasket to seal it. The button worked as a glow plug switch on my tractor because my tractor model doesn't turn on the glow plugs until you crank the engine. This causes it to roll over and splash heavily on takeoff. With this button I can heat up the glow plugs before I start the engine. It still works. I used a switch like this from an auto parts store last year and it didn't last a year before the water corroded it. Hope this brand does better.
