Review on 🧹 Sanitaire SC430A Deluxe Carpet & Floor Sweeper, 11.5-inch Wide by Marcus Akram

The part of the handle that attaches to the unit is just two pieces of strong metal wire

I've had several manual sweepers of this type (can't remember the brand) over the years and each has its own quirks that I had to work with. This particular one works well on uneven tile floors and low-pile carpets (1/4 inch or less). Despite adjusting the carpet pile (to accommodate the height of the carpet), this broom doesn't seem able to handle anything over 1/4 inch due to the design of the handle not being properly engineered for the device. The portion of the handle that attaches to the unit comes with just two pieces of strong metal wire that snap into grooves on each side of the sweeper. On dense plush or carpet with an uneven pile, even with the heaviest pile setting, the handle will slip out of its slots and must be carefully folded and reinserted. Also, this device seems to have a hard time picking up large pieces of paper (bigger than confetti) and pulling small materials (like coffee grounds) out of tight corners. I tried using this office sweeper but it wouldn't pick up the paper and had problems with 1/2 inch pile rugs. I've tried it to clean up spills in the kitchen and pick up clutter in the trash area. But it doesn't get into tight corners and just seems to push apart small materials like coffee and flour. Now I only use it to pick up pet hair, large crumbs and flakes of dust. Which he handles surprisingly well (crumbs, hair and fluff). and plush rugs without falling apart), but none of them could handle the corners (so I'm not really surprised). Generally if you have a lot of dust, pets or crumbs and no carpeted floors. don't waste money on it. If things like that REALLY apply to you, it works pretty well for intermediate vacuum. If you just want to pick up some dust, a little dirt, or small particles between vacuums, grab a good broom or mop (or both).
