Review on πŸš— High-Quality Wiper Motor Replacement for Jeep Wrangler TJ 1997-2002 - Model 4864892 by Jacob Rasmussen

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Replaced my 23 year old rusty wiper motor with this one and it worked great.

I recently purchased a used 1997 Jeep Wrangler TJ and the original wiper motor (protected by a black rubber cover) is horribly rusted and seized after water has collected in it. A fairly simple do-it-yourself process that only takes about 20 minutes: 1) Remove the wiper arms (there is a quick release tab on the underside of the wiper arm). 2) Remove the windshield cover (about 7 * screws: 5). on the hood and 2 under the hood). *You will need a small torx bit (maybe size 10 or 15?) to remove these cover screws. 3) Disconnect the electrical connection from the motor. 4) Unscrew the entire wiper arm assembly (3 10mm screws) and remove it from the jeep. 5) Remove the single nut (maybe size 13mm?) from the wiper motor and pull the attached linkage. * Now you can rotate the wiper freely in a circle when it is not blocked. Clean and apply lubricant if necessary. 6) Remove the 3 bolts (size 10mm I believe) securing the wiper motor to the rest of the wiper arm assembly. 7) Carefully remove the motor from the rubber boot. 8) * Reinstallation is the reverse of removal. The new wiper motor worked perfectly for me, it's great that the wipers are working again.
