I bought this adapter specifically to use my Beat headphones with my PC (Windows 8). When I plugged in the adapter, it recognized itself immediately and installed without needing the CD that came with it. Unfortunately, it didn't recognize my headphones right away, but later I was able to install them. I've had a few issues that I've seen in other reviews, but I've been able to fix them all so far! 1. Headphones connected but no playback. I opened the audio settings and found my beats connected and the test tone played. If I reset them to default, I could hear music.2. The sound was absolutely tinny and terrible. At first I was appalled because as other reviews have said the sound was terrible. Here's the solution! Control Panelβ β "Hardware and Soundβ β "Devices and Printersβ. Select your device and open Properties, then go to the Services tab and disable Hands-free calling. Cleaned up my sound straight away. (I had to go back to sound and set the default headphones again.) Hope these solutions help! For those who just want to play on their PC or laptop, this is a steal.
