So, I was trying to install a double curtain rod and after drilling 6 (!) holes in my apartment wall (!) I resigned myself to the fact that my drill just couldn't do it didn't go beyond the drywall. Drywall anchoring was out of the question and I was tired of drilling holes. I looked at the guide hooks but they didn't match the very heavy blackout curtains I was trying to hang. I've searched and searched and found these hooks. (I think more people would use them if they were easier to find or better advertised). I personally bought a few hooks from a big store to try them out and then ordered the rest from Revain to save money. I bought a total of 12 hooks. Installation: No doubt I needed a hammer to install them. I couldn't just stick them in. However, installing it with a hammer was very easy and quick. Directions were good. Usage: I used these hooks to hold rods for some blackout curtains. I used three hooks per window (one at each end of the window and one in the middle). 5/8" or 3/4" lasts worked. The 1" rods were too big. These hooks hold the curtain rods much closer to the wall than a curtain rod would normally hang. Thus, the use of double cornices is ruled out. The use of rods with anything other than a *very* small, flat one or cap lace is forbidden. The usual knob just doesn't work because of the close proximity to the wall. I use cap lace and spiral lace. Also, there is not enough space between the cornice and the wall to hang the eyelet curtain as usual. I had to fold the curtains so that the eyelet was slanted and not perpendicular to the wall. See photo. This gives a pleated look on one window and a kind of stretched look on the other. I think it's ok. I haven't found any other hardware options. I want these Company makes curtain rods.I was able to wear a prettier curtain over my functional blackout curtains.I aligned the grommets and pulled tight en curtains at the same time on the same rod. Again, because these hooks hold the curtain rods close to the wall, the ability of the curtain to slide over the curtain rods is very limited. I can still open the curtain body but the eyelet heads are almost in place. I think curtains with pockets on rods might work better for this setup. I would highly recommend this product and plan to purchase more hooks to hold wallets and book cases on our "landing pad" in our apartment. This will prevent objects from falling onto chairs and the floor.
