As I write this, I see a trap outside with hundreds of flies (and a wasp) in it. The first few days it was ok, a bit dark. I changed two things and the flies are swarming.1. The way the bowl sits in the trap is way too low. I bent the three wires holding the bowl so the top edge of the bowl was flush with the bottom of the trap. When I first used it, the bowl hung slightly below the bottom of the trap and the flies could fly out horizontally. Now they have to fly up or crawl out of the bowl to get out. I use Raw Applewood Smoked Bacon and Michelobe Ultralight Beer in the trap. It's like a fly magnet. Be warned, over time you will see the larvae in the bowl while the flies lay their eggs. It's hot in here, so they shrivel up and die.
