Let me tell you first. I ended up putting it together and it seems solid enough that I didn't have to send it back. The problems I encountered could probably be solved by pre-drilling holes where the screws should go. I didn't have a drill so I didn't try it. It's also MUCH more effort than I would think that $200 of pre-made furniture would require. BUT: Putting it together was awful. I consider myself fairly experienced at assembling IKEA style furniture. I can usually assemble it myself with very little effort. The main problem with this part is that the screws don't go all the way in. Remember, I tried manually as instructed. Then I tried it with the Powerdriver. I don't know if there was something wrong with the screws, or if there's something in the wood about halfway through or something. I would say 75% of them will not fully seat in the wood. The ones that will hold it together. Especially the corners, as well as those on the bottom and top, hold it together. In the end, trying to force the pieces together while driving through them helped me, but it was really hard to know which ones would actually move. And yes, my assistant tried and asked me if I was doing the right thing and checked myself if I was doing it right. I was. It does not matter. The whole thing was a huge pain and lasted several hours. That was maybe the hard part, I got frustrated pretty quickly. It might be better to use different or shorter screws. I suggest if you buy this give it a try if you have the same problems as me. Also, the box arrived almost completely open. A piece of tape held one end together or it would flap in the wind. I've read about many types of boxed furniture that they're often missing parts or hardware, so I make sure you have everything before you start assembling. together. That's a great size. I particularly like that it is very deep, almost 18 inches. The box is large and can hold a ton of whatever you want to put in it. I use it as a tea table. (I have a large selection of teas.) The shelves are widely spaced. They can accommodate oversized hardcover books, multimedia devices (as intended), and a variety of knick-knacks of all sizes if that's what you want. It feels airy as the sides have nice cut outs and there is only one drawer so it doesn't feel as big in the room as maybe a piece of solid wood. Overall it feels solid, despite the issues I encountered during assembly. It has many screws. That's good, because it means it's likely to hold up fairly well even in the face of problems. I won't be returning it either because I don't want to try to take it apart and put it back in the box. unsatisfied with it. And if it starts falling apart in a month, I'll take it apart and send it back.
