Powerline extender AND WiFi repeater in one - just what I needed

::Update!::After two months of use, the side of the WiFi extender seems to be cracked. We have a Fios connection that should have a wired DL speed of up to 100Mbps. After disconnecting and reconnecting, these speeds are reached. In minutes. After about half an hour of use or less, the device begins to bottleneck and the wired connection drops to 7.5 Mbps or worse. Wi-Fi suffers a similar degradation. It could just be a faulty unit (and most likely it is) but I caution buyers that this product may not last as you hope and a 5 star product is now 2 stars or less as I am serious expect this to last more than a few months with relatively light home use.//So we live in someone else's apartment. That's long. All rooms are in one line. (two bedrooms, a bathroom, a kitchen and two large common areas connected by an extra long corridor). Our IP placed the router and modem at the other end of the apartment. Previously, we could barely see the router's wireless signal, but with it we can get speeds with very little loss (minus the defaults for each type of connection; wired, wireless, etc.). Since our phones need a wireless signal to work properly (we use Republic Wireless), we needed something to expand the bubble. The repeater feature works well, covering the second half of our room while our router covers the first half. The added bonus of being able to plug our computer into a super efficient wired connection is great too. That we can, with a single device, create another identical transmission of our wireless signal, very efficiently over the wires in our home, without running 150 meters of cable down the Corridor of Eternity is remarkable.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Hard to say
