Decent latch; expensive but solid
Nice dark color; pretty good looking, installed in my 1840's house. It's solid brass so you're paying for it, but it looks very nice. Including hardware. The latch is firm when closed and can be tricky to open, especially given the small size (the attic staircase door I installed it on leans forward a bit so the latch is needed and I think the outward pressure of the door is causing this part of the problem). However, a good and firm closure, which does not open by itself. I wouldn't put it in places with a lot of traffic - it'll probably get boring pretty quickly.
