OVERVIEW: Decent value per dollar but not uniform and probably not bright enough for some purposes. Please see the pictures I posted with this review. A picture shows 4 illuminated bracelets from different manufacturers. The top two are non-flip flops and are very light. The bottom two are spanking bracelets, and the bottom one is from *this* set of items. HOW I USE IT:*** To show the position of the gear in the dark, the position of your tripod (or backpack) for night shooting. That way they can find their gear and others don't accidentally knock over their expensive cameras. For this particular use, it is better if they are NOT light. If they let in too much light, it can ruin the nighttime exposure for themselves and/or those around them.*** Leave a TraceWhen we're out walking at night, it's helpful to mark important landmarks so students can safely walk find your way there and back . the firing range. For example, it is not easy to find an entrance or exit in one place. I leave some glowing items on a safe path when I enter and pick them up when I leave. In some places there are dangers that I want to avoid (e.g. steep gorges), I will definitely set a bright flashing light. *** Stage lighting. In one of the shots I posted I used blue highlights. a bracelet to light up the inside of the bow (not THAT, but a brighter one) in addition to a green laser. *** Improvised "Night Light". tends to pollute the environment with light. The bracelet can be bright enough to help them find something in their camera bag or a button on their camera and avoid using brighter lights and also not to interfere with their night vision. PROS: Not too bright - which is fine for my main use. as a camera position marker - Easy to turn on and off - Flexible and secure - so can be wrapped around tree branches, tripods, camera bag straps, etc. CONS - Not bright so not good for marking landmarks - Most of them aren't bright enough to use them as homemade flashlights - the light is much brighter at the ends than in the middle. I've found that bracelets with a thicker plastic case than this bracelet tend to diffuse the light more evenly.- You may need to use tape on the ends to eliminate light spots. Cord and/or hang up. but not this brand COMPARE WITH SIMILAR PRODUCTS Bought 5 different varieties to compare. The brightest, the most drab, was the BSeen Slap bracelet. It consists of a much thicker light tube that directs the light more evenly and accurately. They have a thick band of silicone, very even and bright, but only partially. They're too bright to use for night shots in my opinion, but they're good for joggers or other people trying to be seen in the dark. They have 3 modes: Off/On/2 flashes per second.* [Second] BSeen LED Wristbands Nylon Adjustable (Yellow) * [Not Shown] BSeen(TM) LED Wristband Light Up Party Wristbands (Orange) - Both have Hell. striking light that is fairly even. They're about twice the price of Leokons and probably worth the price for the brightness and expected durability. The nylon strap is more collar-like in construction but well made.* [Third from top] The Glow City spanking strap is almost identical to the Leokon in brightness. The Glow City item has better fabric and stitching, but the light isn't very bright. There is velcro on top of the light mechanism and it's almost impossible to pull out the glowing part to change the (two) batteries. Modes: Off/On/5fps/2fps.* [Bottom] Set of 7 LED Lighted Spanking Bracelets (Leokon) - pink stripes shown. Notice how it's noticeably brighter at the ends. Leokon's internal mechanism is made of fairly thin plastic.
