Review on πŸ”¦ Enhance Your Lighting with Tenmat FF130 Recessed Lighting Covers by Andre Bennett

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Important information not listed in the product description

These covers are easy to fit. The difficulty is not in the product but sometimes in how your lightboxes are set up. Sometimes the light block is close to the truss and you need to trim the cover to fit. Because of this, some of my covers touch light cans. Not sure if this is a fire hazard or not. What is more important to me to note is that the product description does not state what is on the note that is included in the packaging. It states "Do not use CFLs!” and "Use lamp types and wattages recommended by the lighting manufacturer or by Tenmat, whichever is lower, to avoid thermal overload.” Tenmat then lists the following maximums: 120V -Compact fluorescent lamps: 13W, 18W, 26W, 32W; Direction lamps: 65W, BR30; 90W, STEAM 38; LED lamps 120V, 18W, PAR38. These statements must be included in the product description so that buyers are aware of them before purchasing. The product deserves a 5-star rating except for the lack of the above information in the product description. It's actually safer and cheaper to buy canned IC rated bulbs to replace unrated bulbs when you can install them yourself. But installing new can lamps will also take a bit more time. I had attic insulation after installing lamp covers. The installer was impressed with the lids and explained that I saved money compared to what they would have done. He would build something to block the light.
