Super Sharp Hook: Hardware

I got a pack of Xstrap Bungee a few years ago and they work great. I can always use more ratchet straps. I used them to tie some of the tires together, using the spikes on the hard cover as attachment points. For what they had to do, they did a great job. But I have a few minor problems. I got worried when I saw the photos. The ends of the swivel are as unnecessarily sharp as they seem. I decided to file them and touch up with paint. In contrast to the S-hook, the swivel hook has no rubber coating. It's just painted. And the spring-loaded gates seem to be facing the wrong way. The hook is not in the gate at all. I like big ratchet handles. It's a lot easier to work with ratchet straps from my local hardware store that only have eyelets. What I don't like is that the spring on these buttons is biased to one side. And the spring protrudes into the middle of the handle. It would be better if there were coils on both sides to compensate for the trigger movement. Additionally, these are durable straps that work great. I like that they fully cover the spike loops. It appears to be more secure than the open S hooks found on many other belts.
