This pair of ratchet straps doesn't come with instructions, but they have a tutorial video on their main page that has everything you need to know. Once we installed the ratchet handles, tying a load across our SUV was quick and easy. The oversized ratchet handles definitely made life easier. We can't imagine using smaller ones.

With other belts I've had, it's always been difficult to get the belt tension right. These ratchet straps solve that problem by allowing you (with a comfortable and easy-to-use grip) to adjust the tension to almost any level you want. I reluctantly sold my old SUV and now I have a sedan. Trying to bring building materials home in a sedan is no easy feat. If I have a lot I just rent a truck, but if it's just a sheet of plywood or two or a few nails I wanted to be able to use my car. This set of straps and some pool noodles made it a reality. I was able to tighten them until I felt confident and managed to drive home (slowly) without incident. I'm so happy (but I'm buying a new SUV.)

And sometimes I want to take something that is too big for my car. A chair in the trunk may work, but the trunk lid may also need to be left open. These harnesses are for when I need that ability. They work great - my trunk may need to stay open, but the ratchet allows me to close the trunk tight enough that I don't have to worry about the seat popping out. I use this to hang my car roof cargo box from the rafters in the garage. The box is not very heavy (40 pounds) but is bulky and unwieldy. I just slowly lift the box off the roof of the car so I can easily park the car in the garage below. It is excellent for this purpose and feels secure with ratchet locks. I got a pack of Xstrap Bungee a few years ago and they work great. I can always use more ratchet straps. I used them to tie some of the tires together, using the spikes on the hard cover as attachment points. For what they had to do, they did a great job. But I have a few minor problems. I got worried when I saw the photos. The ends of the swivel are as unnecessarily sharp as they seem. I decided to file them and touch up with paint.
