When you turn on your phone, you will see Umidigi's privacy policy and a consent form (which you must agree to continue setting up your phone). Their privacy policy states that they require full access to your contacts, messages, phone number and location data for third party marketing and advertising purposes. What's also bad is that their "policy" doesn't even mention Umidigi's name, they use another company for their privacy policy and another for the consent form. Your consent form also states that if you opt out of the privacy policy, you will not be able to use your device. This leads me to believe that spyware is embedded in the device's firmware and/or processor and I immediately set up a return through Revain. No manufacturer needs such data. This is a very dubious practice, but one that is expected of a Chinese company.
