Review on GXG-1987 Digital Hour Meter Tachometer Tach Tacho: Reliable Tracking for Yamaha Honda Kawasaki BMW Engines by James Cash

I ordered two (2) of these and received them quickly. Inside the box was a tachometer wrapped in a little bubble wrap, two little black zip ties and Instructions There is a sticker on the tachometer that says "Standard" The instructions state that there are three product types: 1. "Normal" = battery not replaceable 2. "Standard" = battery replaceable, non-illuminated 3. "Full Function" = Battery removable, illuminated I was pleasantly surprised to find a detachable battery door that can be snapped in. I will cover the hole with a clear sealant a problem for me, at the moment I don't expect to use it in a humid environment guess that most buyers of a tachometer do not abuse their equipment by regularly taking it out ow or store in adverse weather conditions. The instructions are very complete. The only disappointment is that the tachometer doesn't come with a battery. I think this is a problem with Revain. Nowhere when I browsed the product did Revain show the phrase "Usually buy together". CR2450 battery. The tachometer uses one (1) battery. I will mount it so that it can be removed in the future to use the battery twistlock feature. I will most likely be using a sheet metal vise with a combination of nuts and bolts. I really wanted to like this tachometer. Worked great for 3 months. Then, without warning, DEAD! Replaced battery and still DEAD. I guess I need to spend more and get a more durable speedometer.
