It seems like a great product but our unit had to be returned.

We bought it to take with us on a long trip. We wanted to take milk, cold cuts, cheese etc to eat along the way. The car fridge worked great. It is convenient that the kit included both a car plug and a regular plug. We prechilled it - it cooled down very quickly, reaching 35 degrees in less than an hour. When connected to a machine with the engine running, the temperature is easily maintained at 35-37. When we left the fridge off and got in the car to go hiking for up to 5 hours at a time, the temp in the fridge stayed comfortably cool, never going above 42 even though it was a warm day. The fridge thermometer seemed accurate - we also took a separate thermometer to keep track of. We took the unit to our hotel every night and even when fully loaded it was a good idea to take a fully loaded standard cooler and it was easily operated by 2 people. Handles are of good quality. It's spacious inside! We were able to fit a gallon of milk, a few small bottles of water, and plenty of fruit, veg, meats, cheese, butter, jam, etc. There is a light inside - a very nice feature - and a removable basket which came in handy for storing delicate produce. Objects such as grapes so they don't get crushed. The inside was easy to clean. The overall dimensions were good - it fitted nicely between the passenger seat and the middle row seat of our minivan. The baby in the middle row has short legs, so that's not a problem, but don't attempt the configuration with an older child or adult. So overall it seems like a great product. However, we returned it. On the third day, we climbed to 8,000 feet in the mountains and noticed a thin strip of what appeared to be insulation around the entire bottom edge of the device. The "foam" came out where the seam was hidden inside because there is no seam on the surface of the device. We wonder if the change in altitude caused this issue, but we didn't risk it so we sent it back. We would buy the same block again and hope it was a defect in our particular block. It should also be noted that although the brand name is Colzer, we could not find this item on Colzer's own website. The instruction manual is printed, apparently in a foreign translation into English. It seems to us that this may not be a genuine Colzer product. However, it does not appear inferior in any way and, apart from the isolation problem, we will receive exactly this article again.
