Review on Authentic Japanese Zenitsu Cosplay Men's Shoes: Mules & Clogs for Adults by Kimetsu by James Womble

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Too expensive for what they are

These can be worn once or twice when spending hours outdoors indulging in sweets or walking around a scam. The soles are SO thin and get thinner with wear. My son is 14 years old and weighs 94 pounds. The soles look like pancakes from someone who forgot baking powder and baking soda. They are so flat and flattened. So if he wants to keep using them, I'll have to replace the soles with something better. The foam sole is too porous which means there are more air bubbles in the foam resulting in a weaker sole that thins out like an old seat cushion. Also, the soles on the shoes were not uniform, one sole was very thin near the toe and thicker towards the back of one shoe, while the other shoe had a sole of equal thickness throughout the length of the shoe. They can cost $5 to $7 instead of $30. I can get real jika-tabi (quality-soled tabi boots!) for $17, they're by no means worth $30, so it's not a "you get what you pay for" case at all. The tabi that came with it was very thin and obviously didn't last longer than a pair of socks. I have been buying tabi in Japan (not China) for decades and have never seen such a thin material for tabi, even when worn in summer. They definitely have a very near future with holes in their socks. I ended up buying a better pair of tabi to replace the ones that came with the shoes. You could see my son's skin and nails through the tabi that came with these igusa zori. He wears a US men's size 8, but they fit women's sizes! Men's size 8 in centimeters would be 26cm, not 25cm, 25cm is women's size 8 and men's size 7, so if you are relying on your US/Canadian shoe size, don't! Let cm be your guide otherwise you will get shoes which may be too small if you are not in the bottom size, a bit small for 8 but if you are 7.5 they will be ok (if you have the get that are 25 cm). . While your legs should dangle slightly behind a pair of geta and formal zori, this is not the case with igusa zori. If they weren't $30 I could give a better rating but the quality for the price just isn't there.
