Review on Aqua Quest Spindrift Waterproof Backpack by Kawaguchi Burgess

Revainrating 5 out of 5

They WANT this backpack!

As the title says, you need this backpack! I thought I was going to turn a dry sack into a backpack, but this is MUCH more than that. It's clearly made by a company that knows what they're doing and cares about quality, functionality and design. I have several backpacks and primarily wanted to use them for snowshoeing in winter, boating/kayaking or hiking in rainy weather. But this will probably be my backpack for most occasions. It's light and comfortable. I doubted the waist belt would be as comfortable as my other packs. But this. The sternum strap is adjustable and comfortable, the shoulder straps are perfect, and the padded, ventilated back keeps sweat away from the waterproof fabric. The upper is designed like a regular backpack or dry bag, but with an added Velcro strap that secures the flap before you roll it up and close it. There are a few extra pockets including a zip pocket and a flap pocket. At first I was concerned that there would not be a suitable place to store a water bottle or tank. But I was able to easily slip my reservoir into my back flap pocket and still carry the mouthpiece in a comfortable position over my shoulder. If you're a water bottle lover and need a dedicated holder, this might disappoint. But if you're willing to secure it with a carabiner and then tie it down with one of the many compression straps, you'll be fine. Basically this is a problem with a waterproof bag (design a bag with a good water bottle holder). My only suggestion for this bag is to add a mesh holder somewhere on the side to serve that purpose. The compression straps are a great feature that makes this bag a good travel bag as well. This is a large bag but the folding feature allows you to customize the volume you carry. I am assuming that if you are reading this review you are considering a waterproof bag. I don't think you can go wrong with that.
