Works great without the silicone ring.

I've read reviews that they come with silicone O-rings for extra sealing. However, I use my shake glasses and without the use of rings they do NOT leak AT ALL. Even if I turn them upside down and then leave them upside down. I marinate food and make cocktails. The caps are well made and just as strong as the Ball brand. Unfortunately, Ball only makes dark gray caps. But these white lids allow you to get creative with your gifts. I've never had any problems with a leak or other issues. I'm so happy with it that I'm buying another bag. I highly recommend this product.
