Review on Denon Receiver Streaming Compatibility Bluetooth by Tyrell Hudson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Compact Solid Stereo System

I replaced a very old (UDRA-M7, circa 1998?) Denon system with this one. It was important that the new system could connect to my existing MK subwoofer (yes), fit within the existing dimensions (yes, with room to spare) and sound really good (4 out of 5). I think it would sound better if I actually knew how to set up my own subwoofer. Pretty much everything sounds amazing except for a few CDs that just don't quite *right*. Installation wasn't very difficult and the biggest problem was trimming the subwoofer harness and wiring to accommodate the new hardware. I gave myself half a day to do it and I succeeded. The final two tasks are getting the advanced features to work (HEOS music streaming) and tackling the unsightly cabling nightmare. Pros: Compact Excellent sound quality is solid. In short: I love this new system! The CD player is SO quieter than my old Denon 3 CD player (although I miss having 3 CDs) and much more compact. I think it's been mentioned that it's kind of a dust magnet, but I'm really enjoying it. you will receive (see photo #2). Other: The first night I plugged it in, I was woken up by the sound of the music. Pretty loud music. Upon investigation, it turned out that my stereo turned on in the middle of the night. I figured it might come with a timer set or something (2am doesn't make any sense), so I decided to check tomorrow morning. nope There is no timer. After some research it was discovered that this is an issue with some Denon receivers. Apparently it can turn itself on after receiving the update. The workaround is to turn off the internet when it's on standby (and always turn down the volume before putting it on standby, lol). It worked great for me and hasn't happened since. I expect this system to last 20+ years just like the old one!
