Works and looks great!

I ordered this receiver because it is the only one that has all the features I need in one compact unit (FM radio, CD player, USB port and internet radio connectivity via Wi-Fi). It connects fairly easily and sounds really good with my previous Onkyo bookshelf speakers, especially the powered subwoofer. I haven't downloaded or installed a firmware update via Wi-Fi (yet) as I've read some stories about the device not working properly afterwards. The remote control works great, all functions are…

EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED!

I bought this unit a year ago for my elderly music loving father along with some great Monitor Audio bookshelf speakers. Despite the disparate playback capabilities of this unit (inputs and network), my single goal was to provide decent stereo performance to two speakers with custom music I loaded onto USB keyfobs to play through the front USB input. I successfully own and operate high quality Denon gear that is over 30 years old which is why I chose the premium price. Initially, the device…

Disappointing start, happy ending

As soon as I took the unit out of the box, I had concerns about the build quality because it's so much smaller and lighter than the beautiful 17-year-old model. I'll trade TEAC Beast for a replacement. My first disappointment was that the 14 gauge cables I used with the Ascend Acoustics CBM-170 speakers didn't fit the 16 gauge Denon connectors. The attached image shows the back of the Denon over the back of the TEAC (receiver below, DVD/CD player above). Anyway, I bought the right speaker cable

Compact Solid Stereo System

I replaced a very old (UDRA-M7, circa 1998?) Denon system with this one. It was important that the new system could connect to my existing MK subwoofer (yes), fit within the existing dimensions (yes, with room to spare) and sound really good (4 out of 5). I think it would sound better if I actually knew how to set up my own subwoofer. Pretty much everything sounds amazing except for a few CDs that just don't quite *right*. Installation wasn't very difficult and the biggest problem was trimming…
