Don't waste time. I have had 4 Toto toilets (1 Carlyle, 3 Ultramax) for 10 years now. The valves were an intermittent pain all the time, sometimes they stopped, sometimes they leaked for weeks after being replaced. It depends on the toilet (even the same type). No replacement shock has performed reliably better than any other. I've been wondering why most newly installed hotel toilets have tanks built into the wall - with so many toilets requiring maintenance they certainly can't change mufflers at this rate. Nobody uses dampers in good new toilets anymore - they use towers with drain valves instead. The new turret (at 1.2 Gpf) worked fine on one of the old Ultramax 1.6 Gpf (search for THU460.15E-A available on the Revain website). Very easy to install (only a Phillips screwdriver is needed), although a bit of a hassle to adjust the fill level. For the Carlyle I settled on 1.6 GPf (THU453.10.CA). Harder to find, but got them from Supply.com (a few weeks on special order, but very useful). Easy to install again and I've used this drain valve on other Ultramaxes (no need to play with the level this time). Everything works fine, and I'm glad I got rid of all this nonsense.
