Downlights are a fantastic idea and they really work to illuminate closets and enclosed spaces evenly and effectively. However, the glue on it is garbage. The motion controller/detector comes with 3M Velcro with adhesive, but Velcro sticks to itself better than glue to plastic or a wall. The strip itself attaches with some sort of double-sided 3M tape, but the tape sticks better to the backing than plastic, so it's very easy to accidentally tear the tape off the strip. I ordered two and both keep falling off. . My solution: Use real 3M velcro on the controller so it actually sticks to the wall, then use clear tape to attach the light strip where you want it. I still used the double sided tape but with the expectation that it wouldn't work and that it would only be really useful for temporarily attaching the lightstrip until I got the right tape. You could also try using double sided tape or some command strips but tape seems to work great for me.
