I don't know why they thought the down position was more important than the up position, but that's exactly what they did. When you lock it up you have to push and bend the bucket to release it, you just can't put it back in place, it's locked in there for what purpose, I don't know. I'd prefer it to lock in an upright position in case you're not ready to empty it just yet. If you're trying to get up, good luck, maybe you're lucky, with a bucket in the front and a handle in the back, it doesn't hang or stand nicely. Still better than bending down with a shovel, but hardly. The short broom was fine with me, it could be swung to get to the edges, the longer ones would bounce against the walls so that part didn't bother me just for the back locking feature and lack of hanging options. Those are deducted 2 stars.
