I use them for meditation classes, for children to read, for cooking in the kitchen and when different groups are working on different projects. You can easily set the timer. When the timer stops it will return to the ORIGINAL time you set which is GREAT. As I said, I use them in my meditation classes and different groups work on different types of meditation. I had to tape over the speaker because it didn't help me meditate.
