A firmware of 5 stars

Let's get started first. This is not an access point for your home. It's not like "let me take your hand" and give you cool graphics like a Ubiquiti hotspot. It's made for business. So it's not 100% plug and play. No routing is performed. This is not a router and WiFi combo for home use. The corporate space has dedicated routers, switches, and modems. Enterprise access points like this don't have to do all that. He does one thing and one thing very well. Provide wireless access to your devices. Now it isn't. Setup is pretty easy. Connect the EnGenius EWS377AP to a 30W PoE+ capable switch. If you don't have a POE switch, you can use a POE+ injector. Unfortunately, this device is not included. The default static IP address is 192.168.1.1 unless your DHCP server has changed it. Connect to admin page, change password and update firmware. I cannot stress enough how important it is to update the EnGenius EWS377AP firmware before changing any other settings. This device supports splitting different SSIDs into different VLANs with different authentication, as well as RADIUS authentication. Another great feature of the EnGenius EWS377AP is WPA3. However, you must not use WPA3. Not many devices support it yet. So back off with that. The EnGenius EWS377AP web interface is practical. You won't find any frills in this GUI. The setup took about 10 minutes. It would be faster if the default IP worked. However, I already had a device that was assigned 192.168.1.1 by my DHCP server. One more note; You can set up the EnGenius EWS377AP with the free EnGenius app. Overall, I would buy the EnGenius EWS377AP again. Easy to use. Large selection. Good reliability.
