Type of review

Covers 2500 sq ft of traditional framed office space, single story. Handles at least 120 devices including guest access. Nobody complains about coverage or speed anymore. POE was provided immediately. I have a small gripe and that is the light (probably there is something in the firmware to control this, I honestly haven't checked). Anyway, the lights look like a miniature Christmas garland with red, green, and blue. It was easier to take a small piece of white/cream tape and close them as the…

Finally. Reliable and affordable hotspot. Ideal for home use.

First impression (08/06/20). Pros: Very, very, very strong 2.4GHz signal (impressed! All IoT connectivity issues and old "n" Wi-Fi TVs throughout the house solved) and strong 5G GHz signal. Easy setting. Does not depend on the "cloud" or controllers. Updated to current firmware version 3.7.4 - quick and easy. Wireless Security Options: WPA2, WPA3, WPA2/WPA3 - Personal or Enterprise respectively. Simply select 2,4 or 5 or both for each of the 8 possible SSIDs. Very stable connection. I switched…

Terrible product and support!

Outstanding performance. if you can ever make it work. I'm in IT so I know what I'm doing. I have installed other brands and models of very similar products. but NEVER had this level of complexity. I called EnGenius support. was #2, then #1 in the reply queue. the phone rang a million times, then I got the message "The person you are trying to contact is not available" <click>. Then I tried emailing them which as stated on their website is available. I received an automated reply for…

Big; there is indeed a downside. Still recommended

I like the 4x4 Ax AP. However, it failed the listening test (packet diversity) on Suricata (router, Netgate) with its fancy DNS queries, which are spoofed and used to provide other services besides the standard DNS. It took about a month for tech support to confirm that tagged traffic is what it is (not DNS, but uses "DNS" for other functions). I like the lack of control over what I've paid for. I have other EnGenius APs like EnStation and ENS1750. I'm lagging behind the EnGenius software in…

Very reliable Wireless Access Point (WAP)

I haven't had any problems with this device since I installed it; The current uptime is over 4 days. Before adding it to my network, I updated the firmware to make sure everything was up to date; The upgrade process was simple and straightforward. I have a WAP setup with four different SSIDs bound to different VLANs on the network, allowing me to separate my IoT devices from the rest of my devices. Also, I have a dedicated VLAN/SSID for my kids' devices that I can use to control when they can…

A firmware of 5 stars

Let's get started first. This is not an access point for your home. It's not like "let me take your hand" and give you cool graphics like a Ubiquiti hotspot. It's made for business. So it's not 100% plug and play. No routing is performed. This is not a router and WiFi combo for home use. The corporate space has dedicated routers, switches, and modems. Enterprise access points like this don't have to do all that. He does one thing and one thing very well. Provide wireless access to your devices.

You get what you pay for.

I have installed 10 of these Wi-Fi6 EWS377 access points since they were introduced in business environments. Anyone who makes a living installing wireless networks understands that you must first conduct a survey on a Wi-Fi site to see what the current Wi-Fi environment is like before you install a Wi-Fi capable device in the office or even install at home. Most access points use the factory default settings and do very little customization of the access point's radio settings. This device is…

Access point for network engineers (which is good)

Be careful when buying: This is a business-class access point. It doesn't perform any routing or filtering or what people would expect from a router and consumer-grade Wi-Fi combo. I see some other reviews expecting this device to be an advanced router. However, I'm a network engineer and I knew what I wanted (I have dedicated routers, switches, etc.) so this was ideal. Don't use an injector - it needs the full 30W PoE+, not just 14W PoE (no plus). It loaded correctly. The instructions that…
