This lens performs amazingly well and will stand up to some abuse. I recently took a picture of the Oregon coast during a crazy hurricane that had sand flying all over the place. Paired with my X-T1, this lens did everything I wanted it to and came away unscathed. The coating on the front panel was excellent at wicking away moisture and all the weather seals did their job. After half an hour's treatment with a small brush, the lens looked like new, with no sand in the mechanisms or the rings. Plus, this is SHARP! I'm more than impressed with the quality of the images I'm getting. The optical stabilization is truly incredible. I can get sharp images at 1/15 second and 140mm without trying to be steady and probably 80% of my shots at 1/8 are sharp if I have a good grip. This opens up many opportunities for shooting in less-than-ideal lighting, as long as the subject is still. If you've been missing a 70-200mm f/2.8 lens since switching to the Fuji system, this lens will fulfill all your desires. and more! Significantly lighter, cheaper and shorter than Canon and Nikon offerings, but without sacrificing performance. Worth the investment.
