Review on Toyo Proxes T1-R 245/45 R18 96Y summer by Micha Gabriel Czajko ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I'm happy with it, the price and the quality, I recommend to buy it.

Car - Hyundai i30. Having driven GoodYear Eagle F1 (205/55 R16) for two years, at the end of the summer of 2022, the rubber, which only went about 10,000 km with careful operation, began to howl after 80 km / h. When replacing rubber with winter tires, it turned out that it (summer) was covered with bumps at the points of contact with the road. In fact, this was the cause of the rumble at speed. At the tire shop, they advised me to do a wheel alignment, which, by the way, I haven’t done since I bought the car! That is 50,000 km! As a result, "got" on a new set. I am quite warm about the GoodYear brand. Tires did not let me down on 2 cars that I drove. There were GoodYear winter and summer kits (Ice 7, Ice +, Eagle Ventura, Eagle F1). But in one place itching. Decided to try something different. I decided to change the 55th profile to something more sporty. We are all so athletic, already disgusting! As a result, a set of Toyo Proxes T1-R, size 205/50 R16, was chosen as a replacement. According to the figure, the rubber is almost an analogue of the Eagle F1. In the spring of '13, and the car was shod with new tires. Impressions are positive. Rubber is soft, slightly less noisy (subjectively) than GoodYear. Satisfied! However, having driven a little over a month on our Kharkov roads, a proven home-work route, I was surprised to find a hernia on the front right wheel! This is for careful use! The route of the trip is always the same, both in summer and in winter, that is, "knurled". As a result, I bought another tire, and replaced the "knurled" route with another one (+2-3 km). I pass tram tracks, pits and potholes at a speed of up to 5 km / h. Although I won’t say that I used to fly them directly according to the principle “more speed - fewer holes”, but still I could afford it up to 10 km / h. And GoodYear has been doing great for 2 years! Such an experience led me to the conclusion that Toyo is quite soft rubber. It has a weak side cord, and the 50th profile is not for Kharkov roads at all. Pros: excellent handling, braking stability. Although, again, I did not complain about the Eagle F1

Pros
  • Softness Low noise Appearance (subjectively) Controllability Braking stability
Cons
  • Weak side cord
