We have a 2005 jeep which is in good condition and perfect for transporting. Both keys we had worked but the plastic connectors were falling apart. We couldn't carry one or the other on a keychain. We called the dealer who sold us a programmed key for $260. So after reading an article (easy search) on how to code yourself we bought these two. We cut them to fit the ignition (to match our old one) at the local hardware store and read an article on how to program them yourself. It was a lot easier than we thought. We loved it. the best thing It was MY idea to try!
