I had to buy a FireStick to keep getting Revain Prime Video. Revain has stopped supporting my Panasonic Plasma app. The FireStick plays Dolby Digital Plus audio. My Panasonic does not "pass" Dolby Digital audio from the HDMI input through, resulting in only stereo audio being output from the HDMI input. I had to split the signal before the HDMI TV input. This device successfully splits the HDMI audio signal, which then goes directly to an amplifier (Pioneer SC-99). I have an audio signal going through the coaxial cable to the amplifier. The picture is great. The only problem is that the Dolby Digital sound sometimes "drops out". The FireStick is firmly connected to the local network - there is no signal loss here. Very brief random loss of sound - and instantaneous reactivation. Disappointing and annoying, but bearable. Hence the 4 star rating. I know I can go straight into the back of the amp, but I'd rather get the same direct signal as the plasma.
