I had high hopes for these boots despite the negative reviews. Unfortunately, this all sounds pretty plausible. I've never had to wear boots with a wide leg, but even on a wide shin they fit very strangely. The zipper is very cheap and difficult to close. Once I was able to close them, I took maybe 5 steps and the zipper broke on both. They will definitely be sent back. I usually wear a normal size 7.5, I have toned legs but by no means large. I ended up opting for another regular size brand that fits like a charm. The buyer should definitely beware of this.
