I bought this for my 13 year old daughter for Christmas. She had never done needlework before. She read the instructions and followed them carefully. She completed most of the project during the Christmas break at school. She spent more than 2 hours a day on the project for about 8 days. She was excited. Lots of thread/yarn. We used another large eyed needle from my sewing kit. There are several different stitches: buttonhole, cross stitch, knot stitch, satin stitch, etc. and when the written instructions didn't help we looked on YouTube and got AWESOME video instructions. My advice: Check out YouTube if you get stuck. And don't give up. After everything was ready, we designed it. It was too expensive to make a pillow out of it; it needed protection. She presented a finished tree embroidery kit at a local fair and won first place in the skewer/embroidery category. It's a blue ribbon winner! The judges said they liked the colors.
