Large selection. Essential when working with a charcoal smoker - do not attach item

I like this item. It has a long range, allowing me to monitor my smoker's temperature from the opposite side of the house. Each of the four sensors can be set to a different temperature range. You can set both high and low temperatures and it will beep when either of them is exceeded. I use one probe on the grill with a small holder and stick the other in the chimney. So I know what the smoker is doing. That leaves me with two probes for the meat itself. It's nice to have a grill sensor to tell me when I've exceeded my optimal smoking temperature. Now I can smoke food while doing other things. This really saves time. --- UPDATE --- I attached it to the side of my smoker, no problem, but not the weber. I figured the transmitter's plastic case was safe for high temperatures. It's not like this. It continued to work, but the case melted and deformed so much that I couldn't remove the batteries. Lesson learned.

Pros
  • to the side of the Weber
Cons
  • handy Not as thick as other picks
