This mic picks up the instruments I've tried it on - sax, trumpet and accordion. The range is very good - I was able to get it to about 50 feet before leaving the house and losing the signal - and it comes through with good volume and clarity. The instrument is picked up by the microphone. Pressing valves and buttons sounds like a powerful microphone on a bass drum. If you google some solutions, this seems to be a common problem with these clips. Reducing the gain on the mic and the bass on the EQ helped somewhat, although the hiss is still noticeable. I would have thought a noise gate would help as well, but I don't have one. Another confusing thing is that the instructions are very poorly translated. It took some time to figure out how to start. Including microphone, clip, receiver and adapter from 1/8" to 1/4" and USB charging cable.
