When I took the skirt out of my bag I couldn't believe how soft it was. It seems to be a soft and comfortable combination of velvet and suede. The fabric is smooth with a slight sheen. The skirt has a row of buttons, all of which can be used, they are not sewn on so the buttons can be undone. It also has a drawstring that you can pull up and tie from the inside if your waist is loose. I have a 26" waist and ordered a size small. I adjusted the drawstring slightly to accommodate my expectation when I put it on. I'm about 5'5" and this skirt hits just below the middle of the thigh. The quality of this skirt is much better than I expected for the price, I will probably buy more different colors in the future.
