I have a 61cm waist, I ordered xxs. They're big, but I can get them to work with the strap that comes with them. They are warm and appear well made. big, they make a funny noise when walking and my legs rub against each other. I bought them for field work on cold, wet days. I wish they sold smaller sizes. Calling 28 inch pants too small is a little ridiculous. I wore them in a pool of water during field work in 40 degree weather. Water beads off the outer layer instantly, the fleece gets wet (trousers not waders obviously) but stays warm and dries quickly. I'm very glad I have them and will wear them on future expeditions. I think they would also be good for hiking in wet cold weather.
