WD They released these updated Ultra versions in 500GB, 1TB, 2TB and a new 3TB. (For 2TB, the old version was model number WDBMWV0020BBK-NESN and the new version was model number WDBBKD0020BBK-NESN). (see image for size comparison of each new model and old model) Higher capacity now available up to 3TB compared to older models only up to 2TB. Optional 256-bit AES hardware encryption. Now available in white. Like the old model. Nothing has changed. The weight is exactly the same. at 0.50 lb (0.23 kg) Automatic local and cloud backup Available in 4 colors (they still offer black and blue, red became berry, and titanium has been replaced by white on newer models Temperature: 5°C to 35°C / out of service. Temperature: -20°C to 65°C No cones yet. Bottom line: they're very similar, so unless you need/buy 3TB, which didn't exist before, go with what's cheaper. It's the same size at 4.33" x 0.83" x 3.21" and the same weight at 0.50 pounds.
