I was torn between buying a cheap basic single din head unit or something with a touch screen and GPS with no cellular service to install in my suburban speedometer/dump truck which came without a radio. went with it. The speakers aren't good enough to appreciate the quality of the amp, but it sounds good, loud enough and without distortion. The actual computer running the software is pretty lame, don't try, I repeat DO NOT, plug in your phone or set anything while driving, the user interface is a maze of broken English and weird quirks like how you can't Only run A2DP or HFP from the phone. If both are not connected, the app will not work and you will not be able to sync the phone. Sometimes you have to turn it off and on again for the sync to work. The GPS works, so yes, you can download maps and get directions, but that's without traffic info, so you'll probably want to use your phone mostly. Haven't tried Android Auto yet but I suspect it will work 95% of the time and lag a little like most things on this main device. Definitely don't get this unless you're very tech savvy, you'll be tearing your hair out. But considering it's 60% more than a basic single din radio and the screen mechanism is pretty solid (unpowered) I'd say it's probably worth the extra money compared to a cheap basic head unit . In addition, the play/pause and skip buttons on the touchscreen are quite responsive. But don't expect the sound or quality you'll get from a mainstream $120 branded head unit. Know what you are buying and you will not be disappointed. To be honest, if it's a relatively modern car with Bluetooth but no big touchscreen, I'd settle for a standard stereo or pay significantly more for a better head unit.
