I made a countertop and used it to cut laminate. It worked well. Despite biting off a fairly large piece of laminate, it goes through it like a hot knife through butter. I've had no issues with the bearing "burning through" the laminate, which I've read can happen with these types of bits. You might want to put masking tape, wax, or petroleum jelly on any laminate surfaces that the bearing runs over to eliminate the possibility of a fire, but I didn't and got away with it. First, make sure you clean the bearing and cutting tools between uses. Contact cement can build up on the bearing causing the bearing surface to become "bumpy" resulting in an uneven cut. I just gently scraped the contact cement layer off the bearing and cutters with my fingernail and fingernail and it worked fine.
