The product is very durable! In normal baricaid situations, this will never fail. Stainless steel can warp, causing the mount to warp, but I don't see that as a problem. The dimensions are not ideal for 2x4 lumber, i.e. the thickness of the bracket is greater than 1.5 inches, resulting in some edge to the bracket when a piece of 2x4 lumber is added. I would recommend cutting out a 2x4 piece of wood to fully mount the bracket to the 2x4 bracket.
