I thought this tool would be very useful but it is not. It's a great idea on paper, but it doesn't solve some of the real-world problems it sees. Once the magnet is placed where you are going to use it, it will be attracted to any metal object on the wall or floor. So if it hits a nail, screw, or metal pipe (HVAC duct), it will eventually stick to it and break free from the attracting magnet. So you have to start all over again. After a dozen tries I gave up and used my fishing lines and tape which did the job.
