When I was little, my grandparents had one of these in their house. It was red and my grandmother loved it because it meant she didn't have to bend over and use a dust pan all the time. It was surprising and like magic to watch her push this over dirt and trash and then it would be gone! For a while, I would look for one like it when out shopping and I could never find just a reason to purchase one beyond the nostalgia . Well, I have this unit and upon putting it together and using it, it put me right back there as a little kid watching my grandmother perform her magic. Now this unit is light weight and easy to use. I used it on low carpet and it took a few runs but did finally pick up the items on the floor. I don't know if this is common or if I was just too young back then to know my grandmothers took some work as well. I like it and do use it occasionally around the house.
