I bought this during the colder months to warm my work station in the mornings. My desktop gets chilly at night and I find it a bit harder to type when my fingers are cold, aided by a cold keyboard. This heating pad is good for warming up your keyboard and mouse so they are in a more comfortable temperature range. I will find that I had the airbag automatically turned off several times. The cable connects to the pad, so I unplug the cable from the pad when I don't need it, just in case. The button isn't really physical, more of a touch, a non-tactile turn on could be because I approached the "button" and the control panel felt it and assumed I was turning it on. I clear it off my desk and store it when the weather is warm and I don't expect to need it. It takes a little time to settle down once folded, but I haven't noticed any permanent creases or creases. It's held up so far, but I wouldn't expect it to last long if you treat it like a regular table mat.
