I spend half a year in hotels because of work and regardless of location people seem to leave their usual courtesies at the reception. I've been using a white noise app on my phone for years to try and drown out all but the worst criminals, but even the best phone speakers are so-so. Enter this little guy. About the size of an old Echo Dot, it packs away easily. The rechargeable internal battery easily lasts a couple of nights, but also charges quickly before bed when you unpack and realize you've forgotten it. The different sounds don't seem too artificial and I didn't notice any loopings either - although we tended to stick to typical white/fan noises compared to others. And while anyone expecting Bose sound quality from a $17 speaker will be disappointed, it sounds better than most phone speakers. I didn't notice any "tinny" qualities in the sound. Overall I'm very happy with it, especially for the price. The only thing that would be better would be if my hotel roommates turned off the TVs.
