I'm an artist and I make my own frames so I have to use quite a few D-rings. These are good quality D rings at a good price. They cost £20 which is enough to process most of my images. In theory, two of them should be able to handle a 40lb frame, but I wouldn't use them on a frame that heavy. When I reach a 20 or 30 pound frame I will use heavier duty D-rings. I use them by mounting them to vertical sections on each side of the frame and then running wire between them for hanging. . Thanks to such a wire frame, it is very easy to adjust the picture so that it is even. By the way, I found This vinyl coated frame wire is the best. Much more convenient to carry a picture.
