Review on Dezin Electric Kettle: Keep Warm Function, Double Wall Design, Bicolor LED – 1.5L Hot Water Kettle with Auto Shut-Off and Boil Dry Protection for Coffee, Tea by Don Barbee

I spent a little time searching and reviewing many kettles on Revain and finally settled on this dezin. Bought based on features, positive reviews and the price. Arrived a day late, used twice and already has corrosion/debris on the underside under the glass teapot. I prepared it before use according to the instructions and even submitted my order information to extend the warranty to 90 days. Dezin confirmed this by email. I contacted Dezin customer service and they correctly replied that it was not corrosion but limescale or mineral deposits and offered instructions on using vinegar to remove it. The problem is that deposits shouldn't form after two uses. Upon careful inspection, the residues and stains are found to be mineral deposits left/burnt between the heating plate and under the bottom of the glass teapot. The bottom of the glass teapot does not separate from the plastic part of the teapot and heating plate, so there is no way to clean or wipe the bottom of the glass teapot from the outside if water gets between the glass and heating plate underneath. This burns the water and leaves behind mineral deposits. I contacted Revain and as usual received a great response asking for a replacement as the first kettle appeared to have spots of evaporated water between the heating plate and the bottom of the kettle. Give Dezin a second chance; should arrive tomorrow. The replacement boiler arrived the next day and works great and has great features as shown online. Unfortunately there is a major design flaw where condensation or water can run down the sides and collect on the underside of the glass and the heating plate cannot be cleaned or dried. As a result, the water burns and evaporates during use, leaving mineral deposits/limescale under the bottom of the glass teapot and there is no way to clean it. So I am very careful not to let water or steam run down the sides of the kettle during use and I need to wipe it down thoroughly and keep the outside of the kettle dry. Many Thanks.
