I bought this with a Schlagle Loop chain because it was cheaper to buy each one than a set. Also, the brake discs on my bike aren't perforated, so the more compact disc locks don't fit. It works well, I can ride it through small gaps between the brake disc and the hub. I then thread it through a link on a loop chain that I've attached around a pole set in concrete. And voila, my bike is now more uncomfortable to steal (hopefully more uncomfortable than other bikes in the area). I love that the lock is red, it reminds me it's there and makes it clear that would-be thieves should look elsewhere. The light on the key comes in handy when I leave the house around 3am. My only complaint is that sometimes it takes a bit more force to push the bale into the sluice. Also, despite its strength, it is too heavy to carry in a backpack. I just leave mine in my locker at work (the bike stays in the garage when I'm home).
