I had a Genie overhead door opener on my 2m garage door and had to remove it for repairs. I have a freestanding shop with eight foot doors and thought I could use the old one there. All I needed was THIS extension to make it work. All parts came with instructions on changing from a 7ft opener to an 8ft opener. Easy as pie, nothing needed to be changed other than adding this extension. And all the pieces fit together without the need for filing or cutting.
